Local students become characters in children's book: If I Had a Magic Carpet IV

Local author Laura Clarizio recently released the fourth book in her children's series, If I Had a Magic Carpet IV - Traveling Through Time. In her latest book, students from around the country travel back in time with Miranda on her magic carpet to discover dinosaurs, medieval knights, The Boston Tea Party, Henry Ford and other historical time periods and places.

Eleven of the twenty-four students who gave suggestions of where they wanted Miranda and her magic carpet to travel to are from right here in Rhode Island. In turn, they became characters in Laura Clarizio's book, making their dreams of time travel come to life.

Among the many students-turned-characters in If I Had a Magic Carpet IV - Traveling Through Time are Cranston students Mya Phillips and Gianni Figueroa, Pearl Almeida of Smithfield and Brynn Roche of Johnston, Rhode Island.

New England television reporter/radio anchor Laura Clarizio felt so inspired by her readers enthusiasm, she hopes the series will in turn inspire them as well. Twenty four students from around the country gave suggestions of where they wanted to travel back in time and now they are characters in that section of the book.

"Traveling Through Time If I Had a Magic Carpet, is testimony to that hope. While traveling around the country doing author day events I explained to children that book four of the series would be about time travel and the magic carpet. I told them if they had an idea of a place they wanted to visit; and I used it, I would include them in the book." - Laura Clarizio

Previous books in author Laura Clarizio's children's book series include If I Had a Magic Carpet that addresses stranger danger; If I Had a Magic Carpet II: Key to Kindness that focuses on bullying; and If I Had a Magic Carpet III: Haunted Holidays that features real life ghost hunters Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) who come to Miranda's rescue at the haunted Ellis house.
