On Sunday, February 10th, WFNA-TV was set to broadcast the 28th Stellar Awards ceremony between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. while WKRG-TV was set to broadcast the 55th Grammy Awards ceremony between 7:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The broadcast of the Grammy Awards ceremony would be live while the broadcast of the Stellar Awards ceremony would not be live, since it was recorded on Saturday, January 19th for WFNA-TV and other local TV stations across the United States to broadcast (The Stellar Awards ceremony was originally broadcast live by the Gospel Music Channel, a national cable TV and satellite TV programming service).
WFNA-TV occasionally interrupted the Stellar Awards to broadcast special weather reports with WALA-TV simultaneously due to tornado warnings issued for Monroe County, Conecuh County, Washington County, and Clarke County in Alabama since they were all within the broadcast areas of the stations (both WFNA-TV and WALA-TV were owned and operated by LIN Media). WKRG-TV occasionally broadcast special weather reports for the same reasons during commercial breaks for their broadcast of the Grammy Awards ceremony (most of the weather reports by WKRG-TV began when the commercial breaks began and ended during the breaks. One of the reports began before a commercial break and another ended a few seconds after a commercial break).
