Local Sizzlers Make Steak Night Affordable, Add New Healthy Salad Options

Families are treating themselves to more meals out in 2014 as economic news is more upbeat, spurring a move up from fast food to fast casual dining, such as cheap steak kings, Sizzler. The affordable steak house is capitalizing on the renewed taste for great chops with a meaty menu that can satisfy big appetites without breaking the bank.

In Sizzlers’ home state of California, the chain is kicking off the New Year with All-You-Can-Eat BBQ Riblets for $8.99. For those trying to stick to resolutions to eat healthy and watch their weight, Sizzlers also is offering a new Superfood Salad at their Endless Salad Bar.

The ribs are marinated with a honey BBQ sauce and served with a side of thick-cut steak fries. Heartier appetites may choose from two new triple combo platters featuring a pair of Riblets, a six-ounce hand-cut USDA Choice Steak and either four Jumbo Fried Shrimp for $14.99 or Malibu Chicken for $13.99.

If ribs is not your thing, there are a variety of steak plates and steak and seafood options also available. And you can't talk about Sizzler without mentioning the cheese toast, delivered fresh and hot to your table, and always a favorite with kids. Also for kids, the smaller-sized children's menu steaks are perfectly proportioned and appropriately priced.

Kales is all the talk of the foodie world in 2014, along with wonder grain quinoa, and both are in ample supple at the steak restaurant. The new Superfood Salad is made with tri-colored quinoa and kale. It is mixed with a made-from-scratch cilantro lime yogurt dressing. Also new on the Salad Bar is Crunchy Peanut Slaw with edamame and a Sriracha peanut dressing.

Get it while it lasts. The limited-time BBQ offer and other limited-time menu offerings are available at participating locations through February 23.
