Local shelter wants book donations

Second Chance Animal Shelter has put a book donation container at its North Brookfield location (372 North Main St.). This is a great way to help pets and get rid of books that won't be re-read or are taking up lots of space in the home. Spring cleaning is a great time to sort through the books and clear 'em out!

A drop-off book donation container has been set up in the parking lot of Second Chance's pet Wellness and Education Center. Look for the purple and yellow container and its "Got Books?" sign.

Re-purposing used books (as well as CDs, DVDs, records and audio books) will help the shelter raise funds. Books donated will provide an ongoing source of payment to the shelter for every item collected in their donation container. Funds brought in due to the collection of re-purposed book donations will go 100% to needy pets. This is an ongoing fundraiser, and donations can be made at any time.

So, get down to the Wellness Center and dump some books! The pets will be grateful.
