Local shelter chosen as part of two national animal rescue programs

Second Chance Animal Shelter of East Brookfield has announced that it has been chosen for membership in the Humane Society of the United States' Companion Animal Advisory Council, a national program designed to help animals throughout the U.S. Second Chance will be the program's Massachusetts representative.

The shelter has also announced its inclusion as an Emergency Placement Partner with the ASPCA in connection with its anti-cruelty program. Second Chance will assist with large-scale cruelty, hoarding and other rescue missions to find homes for the most needy animals in these situations.

The shelter has a goal to help as many pets as possible and help end cruelty to animals and the homeless pet problem in this country.

Supporters can help the shelter by donating food, products or clothing; volunteering, fostering, or adopting a pet from Second Chance.
