Local fantasy author D. Wallace Peach and science fiction author Sheron McCartha are scheduled to appear in a joint book-signing event at Jan's Paperbacks in Aloha, Oregon. Both love to talk books...and each is looking forward to meeting and chatting with fans of the SF/F genre. This event takes place Saturday, August 9th, from 1-4 pm.
D. Wallace Peach worked in business many years before going back to school for a Master's Degree in Counseling. Though she has been reading fantasy since childhood, she didn't start writing full time until her move from New England to the Pacific NW three years ago. She has since published three stand-alone fantasy novels through Mockingbird Lane Press: Myths of the Mirror, The Melding of Aeris, and Sunwielder. Book I of her new fantasy series, the Dragon Soul Trilogy, is expected to be out later this year. Diana currently lives and writes in Vernonia, Oregon.
Sheron McCartha graduated from the University of Florida with a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis on English, speech, and journalism. She taught creative writing and literature for a time at the high school level. She also worked as a banker, stockbroker, and art gallery manager before finally turning her talents to writing full time. Her Alysian Universe series is a fast-paced space opera (with elements of time travel) set on the planet, Alysia. There are currently six books in the series with a seventh, Someone's Clone, due out by the end of the year. Sheron is a resident of Beaverton, Oregon.
Whether you're a fan of science fiction or fantasy or both, there's still time to add a couple of new books to your summer reading list. Just head to Jan's Paperbacks this Saturday afternoon, August 9th. D. Wallace Peach and Sheron McCartha will be on hand from 1-4 pm to talk about their many titles. And if you're already a fan of their work, this is the perfect opportunity to meet them in person!
Jan's Paperbacks, located just outside of Portland, has been open since 1981. The owners pride themselves on supporting the local community and, especially, its writers. The bookstore is located at 18095 SW TV Highway in Aloha, Oregon.
