Ah. . .Labor Day.  Picnics, barbeques, a signal to autumn, and every two years, the traditional start of the campaign season. This can be evidenced by the various political party endorsements that went down this week, as well the numerous recorded telephone calls, television and radio ads, and fundraising event invitations you may have already received if you are a registered voter.

Incumbents everywhere are running scared. Many have not faced opponents since they were first elected to their offices. In some school districts, incumbents have gone 16 years without an election. The people smell blood in the water and have accordingly filed to run against the incumbent school board members.

Because there are five elementary school districts that feed into the Anaheim Union High School District, I will cover all five races as well as the high school district race throughout the election cycle.

The elementary school districts are Cypress, Centralia, Magnolia, Savanna, and Anaheim City Elementary School Districts.

I will provide as much information as possible on each candidate as well as links to their websites and information on candidate debates.

We'll start this week with the candidates for the Cypress School District and move east each week.
