Nashville-area rapper Kulprit D will guest on Web-based Hooah Radio with East Coast-based DJ Bette at 8 p.m. (CT) Sunday, Feb. 10, to interview about his debut mixtape and spin tracks from the project.
The rising music-maker recently hit the No. 1 spot on his hometown ReverbNation Rap Chart, in addition to garnering some college-radio airplay and press in honor of his debut mixtape, "Stay Working At Greatness," a 13-song project that's available for free download.
"I am really honored that troop-supported Hooah Radio is interested in spinning my music and talking about my 'SWAG' project," Kulprit told Examiner.com on Feb. 8. "I am a big supporter of our military and respect their service, so to have an audience with them via DJ Bette's show is humbling."
On the single sfront, Kulprit D recently offered one of his tracks, "Straighten Up," for $1.29 purchase, with 50 percent of sales going toward Half The Sky Movement, a nonprofit designed to empower oppressed and abused women.
"'Straighten Up' is kind of an anthem for all women. It tells how men need to straighten up and be more chivalrous, and it also tells women to watch out for the guys whose intentions are less than honorable," Kulprit said. "I wrote the song before I knew about Half The Sky, but I think it's a fitting song to offer up to benefit the cause."
