Sustainable living for a family starts with being able to live well within your means. Living well encompasses what you serve your family to keep them healthy and how you use your family budget for essentials like clothing and shoes (and non-essentials like toys). This weekend features two of our local best options for a family budget, that also helps keep our local economy fueled, keeps good items from being tossed out and winding up in local landfill, and even boosts some of the local families budgets as well. We have several great Farmers Markets to choose from, and the 14th semi-annual Little Feet Repeats consignment sales event.
If you have kids and you have never been to a Little Feet Repeats consignment sales event, what are you waiting for? The items are gently used (and in some cases, never used - you know how fast kids can grow) and on consignment sale; which means that someone who owned it is selling it and you can get it well under what it originally cost. A win-win for parents on a budget and parents cleaning out closets! Originally Little Feet Repeats was focused on maternity, baby and children's clothes, shoes, and baby/children's furniture - they have recently expanded to include home schooling, craft supplies and household furniture. And don't forget to sign up - you may want to resell some of your kids stuff at some point and these sales are in Spring and Fall.
