Local Natives prep to release "Humingbirds"

LA’s own Local Natives debuted a few new tracks on public radio station KCRW from their highly anticipated sophomore album “Hummingbirds”, out on January 29.

An exclusive live version of their new single “Heavy Feet” can be heard on KCRW’s You Tube page. The entire session will be broadcast on Morning Becomes Eclectic on January 11.

The breakout band toured virtually nonstop behind their 2009 debut "Gorilla Manor". The new album, "Hummingbirds" was conceived in LA, as they wrote for a year before heading to New York to record at the studio of The National’s Aaron Dessner.

As drummer Matt Frazier told Morning Becomes Eclectic host Jason Bentley during a mid-set interview, the new songs are purposefully spare and bare at points compared to the “bombastic” nature of previous tracks from Gorilla Manor.

Local Natives are sure to light up 2013 with a blaze of terrific soundscapes and melodies.
