The month of March is filled with great events and holidays to fill your need to fight off the winter blues. March Madness will fill the bars with basketball fans cheering on their favorite schools. Saint Patrick’s Day will provide ample opportunities throughout the city to don some green, orange and white and get in touch with your inner leprechaun. Only a few blocks west of West 117th Street on Madison Avenue, The Winchester sits just into the Cleveland suburb of Lakewood, Ohio. The town is known for its diversity and great character and The Winchester could be considered a model citizen. The unassuming façade of this great venue could easily be passed by as just another Lakewood bar—but step inside and pass through the door from the bar to the Music Hall you will be transported into one of the greatest small music venues in Northeast Ohio. Dedicated to delivering great music and supporting local singer/songwriters it is rare that you will find a Friday or Saturday not jamming at The Winchester. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you can find local artists putting in their dues at the weekly Open Mic nights. Located to the east of the city on Cleveland Heights’ famous Coventry Road, the Grog Shop has a long history of presenting great music in it rawest form in a down and gritty environment. In 2003 it moved to its current location, more than doubling in size, yet maintaining the intimate environment of the venue and its integrity to presenting talented acts from all genres. The Grog Shop has a busy schedule, sometimes hosting two concerts in a single day. Making it that much easier to get a taste of what you are looking for in an environment where you can literally stand a foot away from the performers.

The Beachland Ballroom is located on the East side of Cleveland in the heart of the Waterloo Arts District in the redeveloping art-centric Collinwood neighborhood. Wilbert’s has been a staple in the Cleveland music scene for many years. But with it’s current location—tucked in the back of a building on Huron, facing the baseball field—many forget about this incredible live music venue tucked in the heart of downtown Cleveland. Dedicated to showcasing the best of local talent as well as incredible touring artists, big and small, proprietor Mike Miller continues to deliver great music to his patrons. Not to mention the incredible food you can order once you work up an appetite dancing to some great tunes.
