Local music artist, Karla Bauer, goes national

Although she was raised an all-American-farm girl in Lyons, Kansas, Karla Bauer is proud to call Kansas City home. As a youth she would sit at the bottom of the grain silos and sing for hours because the acoustics were fantastic.

Launching her career

Karla's professional career as an Independent Christian Music Artist was launched in 2005 after seven life changing events. These experiences inspired her to finish a song she began crafting when she was just twelve years old. Further inspiration for the song "Always" came through a scripture verse from the Book of Hebrews:

  • ... I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. - Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)

Being an Independent Music Artist means I have no record company helping me and I solely finance my entire career. It is a lot of hard work, especially since I have a regular day job as an engineer! But I have music and a message I am called to take to the streets and I will continue as long as the Lord allows. Besides, how can I go wrong with my sister, Kristi Van Horn, as my Public Relations Representative and God as my Marketing Manager?- Karla Bauer

Going National

In addition to having her cds available in major national outlets such as Best Buy and Barnes & Noble, Karla has auditioned for NBC's show “The Voice”. Her music is also on Pandora internet radio and the playlists for some national radio stations.

Supporting Kansas City

All of Karla's cds and music videos are produced in Kansas City. An award winning team with Attaboy Media Productions produced her music video “Always”. Integrity Video, based out of Olathe, produced her holiday music video,Hope is Alive”.

Kansas City is a great town to be an Independent Music Artist! I play with Ron Richards, an incredible gifted finger-style acoustic guitarist. It seem as if people are more willing to give us opportunities to play because they are happy to bring in not only good talent, but really just wanting to help promote me since I am local. I really appreciate all of the people that have given me a chance to shine at their event(s). - Karla Bauer
