You cook, you clean, wipe noses, and scream – but when do you rest?
A recent Facebook update from a mother in Washington read, “Wife, Mommy, Homemaker, Stroller Pusher, Diaper Changer, Maid To 4 Boys, Whip Cracker, Spider Killer, Eye Roller, Taxi Driver, Bathing Assistant, Cleaning Queen, Hair Stylist, Food Cooker, Custom Tailor, Face Maker, Provider of Love, Hugs, Comfort, and Sarcasm 24/7.”
This proclamation is close to reality for most mothers.
Whether, married or single, working or stay-at-home – a mother’s work is never done. Often, you put your family and children ahead of your own well-being. While this is very commendable, it is unpractical. Mothers, like anyone else, need to take a break from the daily household pandemonium, chill, and just relax!!
Sex in the city
On Thursday, May 27th, mommies from all over Houston came together to toast to Ladies Night Out and the Sex & City 2 premiere at Studio Movie Grille at CityCentre. This event took place in true Cosmo-girl style, with trendy fashions and pretty drinks.
Studio Movie Grill (SMG) offers an alternative to the traditional movie viewing options. At SMG you can enjoy restaurant style entrees, adult beverages, and desserts with your movie.
“It was fun and pretty cool,” said Katy mother of three, Necole Sikod, about the Sex in the City premiere night.

Host a passion party
Invite your mommy entourage over for drinks, gossip, and shopping (of course). You and your BFF's can spend an evening giggling like school girls as you discover new ways to spice up your love life.
As a hostess you will mainly be responsible for the guest list, and scheduling, of the party. Your party Passion Consultant will handle the rest, so you can get involved as little or as much as you would like. You also have the opportunity to receive free items.
“The average party lasts anywhere from one to two hours,” said Passion Consultant, Chipo Taylor. “The more sales, the more free stuff the hostess can get.”

Barnes and Nobles (or the nearest bookstore)
Sometimes the simplest places can provide the most effective cure for Mommy burnout. Spend your “me time” in a cozy corner at your favorite bookstore. Or consider creating a book café at home where you can channel your frustrations the old-fashioned way – in a good novel.

Have a little talk with Jesus (or the agnostic equivalent)
When all else fails (or perhaps first on the list), meditation can work wonders for achieving the ultimate relaxation. It's helpful to have a quiet place at home where you can unwind. Developing a hobby such as writing, gardening, or photography are all proven methods of stress management.
