Local Man found Guilty of vehicular homicide in Rapides parish

Local Examiner, Rapides parish, LA: Andrew Juneau, 20, of Boyce was the driver in the March 12th automobile accident that killed his passenger after the vehicle overturned and struck a tree.

State Police have shown sufficient evidence to prove that Juneau was in fact impaired at the time of the one vehicle crash, and he has consequently been charged with vehicular homicide.

According to authorities, at the time of the accident Juneau was heading west on Hwy 488 and he lost control at which point the truck flipped and he hit a tree. His passengers were Brandon Ward,18 and Derek Stanley,18. Stanley died on the scene, and Ward’s injuries were moderate to severe.

Authorities also have not disclosed whether or not everyone in the truck was wearing their seatbelts. It is known however that Stanley was wearing his seatbelt, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Juneau’s bond has been set at $150,000. More information will be released as it becomes available.
