A Rowan county kennel, The Right Puppy Kennel, is being investigated for faking dog certificates of health.
Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Kevin Settineri. He is facing nine counts of obtaining property by false pretense according to WBTV reports. Danielle, Kevin's teenage daughter, is facing two counts in addition to three other charges brought against her two weeks ago.
Sheriff Kevin Auten stated that the kennel, located near Salisbury, advertises Wolf Hybrid along with other dogs. Customers are not getting what they should when purchasing a dog. According to the sheriff, altered paperwork is being used for dogs. The original paperwork shows a healthy dog certificate, whether the dog is healthy or not and the illnesses displayed by the dog may also make the pet owner ill as well.
A dog recently showed up in Florida at a veterinarian's office with the altered paperwork and sick.
Complaints have shown up on Google and Facebook regarding the kennel. Customer testimonials showing satisfaction are listed on The Right Puppy Kennel website, although it was reported that these testimonials are not always true.
The BBB has given The Right Puppy Kennel an "F" and has had 10 complaints against them within the past three years.
More charges may be forthcoming.
