On Saturday, August 30 at 7pm in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, Budd Robertson will be hosting Buddstock II featuring Livin the Blues Band with opener Keni Lee Burgess. Ticket price is $20 and the attendance cap is 100.
Budd experienced his first house concert a number of years ago in New Jersey. He was impressed by the players, but the atmosphere was more like a wake than a party. Inspiration struck and Robertson realized, “I could do this!” Only, he vowed, his event would be a celebration with full respect for the artists.
At Budd’s shows, the party starts an hour before the concert. There is food, drink, mingling, and pre-show music to give people time to loosen up before they get “their minds blown!”
“I offer a warm, happy environment with great food, great people, and great talent,” Budd stated. “And because my partner, Larry Niedt, is a veteran theater technician, we have lighting and staging unheard of at most house concerts.”
“This show is going to be epic!” Robertson predicted. “During the initial party phase of the night, Keni Lee Burgess is going to perform an acoustic set. He is a busker (street musician) and I promised him total freedom to play as close to his element as possible. Keni is an American treasure! Folks are going to be schooled in some serious early Delta Blues!”
“Then it’s showtime on the main stage!” Budd continued. “The Livin The Blues Band will deliver the hottest Chicago Blues people have ever heard. Lead guitarist, Hap Moore, was recently inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame. I’m talking serious business here, these boys are the real deal!”
In closing, Budd expressed, “Giving people a gift of this level of music at my own home makes me feel so good, it’s made my life better. Yeah, I spend a few bucks to put these shows on, but it’s worth every penny!”
