Local Gal Goes to Hollywood, Brings Attention to Special Needs Adults

There is strong. Then there is Country Strong. That's what local Special Needs program Director Lauren Mink showed America last night with her successful audition on American Idol.

Lauren sent chills over Jennifer Lopez with her rendition of the Sugarland hit Country Strong. Ms. Mink was profiled by the Idol production crew, which showed her work with special needs adults. As beautiful as her audition was (pretty enough to earn a trip to Hollywood) it was outdone by the brillance of the work she does.

Lauren brings the gift of music to some special people, who bring it with a beautiful chorus of loving voices, under her direction.

The music coming from the soul of this young "Country" gal, echos through the voices of the men and women she encourages using her gift of music. In my book, she has already become an American Idol.

Good luck Lauren, and thanks for the work you do.
