The Gilleand Brothers are a filmmaking trio from Northern Indiana. They have been making films for over 15 years, starting with just short films when they were just children, not fully understanding the work involved in filmmaking. They simply pointed the camera and shot anything and everything they could think of, having fun while doing it.
Now, in 2011, Tim, Andy, and David Gilleand are preparing to film their next film, titled "Buck and Drake III: Buck to the Future". This film is a direct sequel from their latest, and most popular film "Buck and Drake: The Search for Spooks", which premiered at the Colfax Auditorium in the South Bend Library.
The first film was originally intended to be a mockumentary, making fun of the whole aspect of ghost hunting, commonly seen all over the media, while visiting actual supposed haunted locations in Michiana. Though after filming for several days, they surprisingly got an interest to everything they were filming about, making the mockumentary less of a mockumentary, and more of a documentary. Because their next film had to do with time travel, they decided to take a twist to the whole idea of time travel in film, and release the third film before the second. The plot has to deal with Buck Lancaster going back in time, and grabbing his film partner, Drake Campbell, taking him back to the future, to help find present-day Drake, who has since gone missing from the events of the second film, which has not yet been seen.
“Buck and Drake: Buck to the Future” begins filming on May 26th, and will continue through that weekend in and around the Michiana area. The Gilleand Brothers plan to finish as much done as possible within that time span. You can be sure to see the finished product in the same room its predecessor was seen in later this year.
