On Sunday, September 19th, Manchester Community College will be hosting CT NOFA’s fantastic fall event - TASTE! Organic CT. This annual event is a organic festival complete with informative presentations, music, and of course, delicious, organic foods for all. There will be a multitude of free classes, such as “Eating from your Backyard,” “Pickling Unusual Vegetables,” and “Bread Making.” Special guest John Turene will be grilling up mouthwatering sliders of local beef and lamb, as well as offering crisp salads and refreshing smoothies - all sourced from local produce! Children will enjoy crafts, pony rides, hoop-dancing and a special lunchtime performance of ART FARM - theater with an enviromental theme. While wandering the farmer’s market, visitors will be serenaded by local band Whiskey Boys as well as Deborah Simmons, Trainwreck Jerry and Adam Matlock. This event will also be hosting a screening of “The Greenhorns” - a new documentary focusing on the clean food movement.
Tickets to TASTE! Organic CT are $7 for adults and $5 for students and NOFA members. Children may attend for free. For more information, check out CT NOFA’s website at www.CTNOFA.org.
