Matthew Craig of Saint Charles, owner of Out on a Limb Tree Service was hired by a Ferguson customer, Mike Kleeschulte to remove a tree that was knocked over during a storm that occurred on 31-May 2013. This storm was not unlike most, as it was a date that 6-tornadoes stormed through the Saint Louis and Saint Charles Metropolitan area. According to the homeowner, a large limb broke off a tree in his backyard which also damaged his vehicle in the process. Reportedly, the tree service advised Kleeshute that they would be able to remove the tree branches from the vehicle as well. Kleeshute was charged $400 to remove the tree and limbs which he apparently paid in advance. However, one of the workers knocked out power to the home when they negligently dropped branches on an electrical wire. At which point, the worker left the home and even their climbing equipment behind. They never returned. Kleeshute attempted several times to contact the contractor but nobody ever called him back or return to his home to complete the work.
Matthew Craig is currently on probation for forgery and possession of a controlled substance.
