It's that time of year again, when eggs are hidden and children have the joy of searching for them. It's hard to say if they have more fun finding the eggs or eating the candy inside. No matter the reason, having fun is what's important.

To help with that fun, there are a few churches in the area that are having egg hunts.

Abundant Grace Community Church, on NW 39th Avenue, is having their 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt, on Saturday, April 19th at 10:30 a.m.. In addition to the egg hunt, there will be free food, bounce houses, live music, sack races, great prizes, face painting, cup cake walk, and much more. This event is free and there will be egg hunts for all ages of children.

On Sunday, April 20th from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Kanapaha Presbyterian Church, on SW 75th Terrace, will celebrate the resurrection of their Lord at the historic 1886 Kanapaha Presbyterian Church. They will begin with a 7:00 a.m. Easter Sunrise Service at the cemetery (4838 SW 63rd Blvd, just north off SW Archer Road). At 8:30 a.m., there will be a free breakfast in the Fellowship Hall at the church. At 10:00 a.m., their Easter Sunday Worship service will be held in the historic sanctuary. And at 11:15 a.m., they will have an egg hunt on the grounds.

Celebration Methodist Church, on SW Archer Road, will have their Easter Celebration on Saturday, April 19th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a free event and there will be lots of fun and candy too!

Destiny Community Church, in Newberry, will have their annual Easter EGGstravaganza on April 19th, beginning 11:00 a.m.. There will be inflatables, food, games, activities and a HUGE Easter Egg Hunt with over 15,000 eggs, for children from toddlers through the 5th grade. This is a free event, and the egg hung begins at noon.

Wherever the hunt takes place, remember to enjoy the moment and savor every bite of candy that gets consumed.
