Local Bookstores are participating in a program to help people get reading! World Book Night has come to the US for the first time ever and is taking place on April 23rd across America.

The Mission of World Book Night is to seek out light or non readers in your community and get a book in their hands and get them reading. "Givers" do this by volunteering to hand out a particular title (chosen from a list provided to them) in their community. They recieve 24 copies of the book which they pick up from their local "Distributors". Distributors are local businesses like Libraries or Bookstores. Those that signed up to be givers can pick up their books in the week leading up to April 23rd.

The local store in the Lansing area is Bestsellers Books and Coffee in Mason. The owner, Jamie Robinson, is excited to take part in World Book Night. "It's a great way to share your love for reading and help out your community," says Jamie.

If you haven't signed up and are interested in helping keep an ear out. Come April 23rd Jamie says should have extras. Stop in to Bestsellers for free coffee and donuts from 8-11am. and see if you can help. Not from the Lansing area? Check their website for a list of locations that are participating.
