Fort Wayne based rock band Rains is slotted to open up for Chevelle, Sick Puppies and Janus at Piere's on February 17th. Rains, under the management of Mari Dew for Sights and Sounds, will be promoting their 12-song debut cd titled 'Stories' . Rains is a five piece band led by singer/guitarist Jeff Rains. The rest of the band includes drummer Joe Schultz, bassist Joe Pitter and guitarists Jason Anderson and Allen Whitt.

From their Myspace page Rains describes themselves as, "a band for the people, and it’s about time. People need a band to get behind and a band to believe in; they need a band that can make them proud. Nothing trendy – something real."

Rains offers up 7 of their 12 songs from cd Stories on their Myspace page which delve into a series of subjects. Their song 'Liar' has received the most attention with over half a million hits. The songs sound solid, professional and very well mixed.

Heavy national rock acts Chevelle and Sick Puppies will be the main course at Piere's. These two national acts have been building steam off the catalyst of new releases. Chevelle's latest tune with huge airplay is 'Jars' from their recently released Sci-Fi Crimes cd. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, now based in L.A., Sick Puppies' tune 'You're Going Down' from their Tri Polar cd has put them on the map as a solid new act.

Like Chevelle, Janus is a Chicago based metal band enjoying the success of their hit 'Eye Sore' from their album Red Right Return.

With such a good lineup of bands onstage at Piere's on the February 17th, this will definitely be one show worth the price of admission.
