Local artists raise money for Haiti relief

Don’t miss “Hope for Haiti: A Night of Acoustic & Comedic Performances” at The WorkPlay Theater Jan. 22.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross Haiti Releif and Development fund.

Featured performances include Chris Adler (7 p.m.), Daniel Bashta (7:35 p.m.), Hunter Barrow (8:20 p.m.), Josh Vasa (9 p.m.), Duquette Johnston  (9:40 p.m.), Matthew Mayfield (10:20 p.m.), and a duet by Kate Taylor and Preston Lovinggood of Wild Sweet Orange (11 p.m.).

Extemportaneous Theatre Company (ETC) will present improv comedy during set changes throughout the evening. Tickets may be purchased online at www.workplay.com, or $10 donations will be taken at the door. ETC was named Best on-the-spot theatre by Bhammag.com and was a finalist in al.com’s Birmingham’s Best Live Theater 2009 category.
