A recent graduate from Altee High School and upcoming freshman in the theatre department at James Madison University, Diego Salinas has been cast in the role of Javier Reyes in On The Wing to be filmed in Virginia and starring two time Golden Globe nominee Corbin Bernsen and Academy Award winner Shirley Jones.
On The Wing will be filmed entirely on location in Virginia. The film is a collaboration between Big House Pictures and Contender Films.
In the film a 16 year old is forced to attend a student program in Washington, DC where he discovers corrupt politicians seeking to destroy bald eagles.
Salinas most recently worked at CAT Theatre where he played the role of Josh, a teenager with autism in the world premiere of The Joshua Plant. He also appeared in the Henley Street Theatre production of Julius Caesar. Other roles include Sancho Panza in Man of La Mancha, Mr. March in Little Women, Flint in Something’s Afoot and Lefou in Beauty and the Beast.

When you’re the 16 year old heir to an oil fortune and the son of a Presidential candidate, maybe all you really want to do is play guitar. But when Will’s father forces him to attend a student program in Washington, Will has to stretch.
Soon, he and some newfound friends discover that the infamous Senator Sally Atkinson has a secret plan to slaughter bald eagles to get at the oil beneath a wildlife refuge. Despite his father’s warnings, Will and his friends put up a no-holds-barred battle against the powerful Senator Atkinson.
If they succeed, will it cost Will’s father the Presidency, and destroy their fragile father-son relationship? Or, might Will change the world’s energy future, secure his dad’s presidency, and get the girl?
On the Wing will be shot in and around Richmond, Virginia in August 2014.
