Lobos hockey team needs help to make it to regionals

The UNM Lobos hockey club is wrapping up their best season in recent memory.  With two regular season games left to play, the Lobos have posted a 15-2 record and currently sit in third place in the American Collegiate Hockey Association's (ACHA) Pacific Division III.

The club's outstanding season, which includes an unbeaten home record, is good enough to qualify them for a slot in the ACHA's regional playoffs in Las Vegas in February.

The biggest challenge for the Lobos now?  Finding the funding to make the trip to Las Vegas to compete.  The University of New Mexico is not covering the cost of the trip to the competition, forcing the players to find the funds themselves.

The team is looking for sponsors and donations to help cover the cost of their trip.  The club estimates they'll need approximately $300 per player.

Anyone interested in making a donation or sponsoring a player is asked to contact Bethany Perry at or at (505) 280-2545.
