The amazing designs from Philadelphia design collective Lobo Mau(means ‘big bad wolf’ in Portuguese) claims to blow your house down. Don’t be scared, they don’t mean that literally. The famed label headed by designers and artists Keturah Drake, Nicole Haddad, and Megan Noll kicks up your wardrobe with garments, accessories, and home décor that in their words, is “something worth buying”.
The threesome challenges you to wake up from the economy induced clothing coma and treat yourself (and your closet) to something unique, wearable, and affordable for the upcoming season. Thanks to the newly established COLAB Studio, the brainchild of famed Philadelphian Andrea Pippins of Fly and the award winning Kocayne Givner, you can shop Lobo Mau this saturday. Givner, an MFA student at Drexel University ,and Pippins, a MFA graduate of the Tyler School of Art acquired the northern liberties space to serve as a studio and event space.
The delightful Pippins has been a staple in Philadelphia with her blog and YouTube webisodes that take you along on her adventures and inspirations in graphic arts, fashion, food, and everything in between. She has been contracted as a brand ambassador for GAP, a guest graphic designer for free people, and her designs for I love my Hair are selling like hot cakes.
Come to Colab Studios tonight between 6-10 for $2 beers and $3 wine to sample the designs of Lobo Mau and meet and great with the uber talented Pippins and Givner.
