The Little League World Series is back! Yes, it's that time of year again when the best youngsters from across the globe will meet up to determine who is the best little league team in the world. According to Bleacher Report on Aug. 12, the top 18 teams in the world will gather in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania beginning on Aug. 14 and play until the champion is crowned on Aug. 24.

Their are two bracket in LLWS play. One is the United States bracket and the other is the International. The International teams will be represented by Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Australia, Venezuela, British Columbia, South Korea and the Czech Repubic while the U.S. bracket teams hail from Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Tennessee, Illinois, Texas, South Dakota, and Washington.

This is truly one of the biggest and best global sports events held every year.

If you have never watched the Little League World Series and you are a fan of baseball, you really need to catch some of the action this year. This tourney brings together the best teams and players between the ages of 11 and 13, and the effort these kids give every game is priceless.

The annual tournament has been held since 1947, and the United States has won the most championship titles with 33. Last year's champion was Musashi Fuchu, from Tokyo, Japan who defeated Chula Vista, California 6-4.

Thursday, Aug. 14 — Double Elimination Games

  • Game 1: Asia-Pacific vs. Europe-Africa, 1 p.m
  • Game 2: Great Lakes vs. Northwest, 3 p.m.
  • Game 3: Caribbean vs. Australia, 5 p.m.
  • Game 4: Midwest vs. West, 7 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 15 — Double Elimination Games

  • Game 5: Mexico vs. Canada, 1 p.m.
  • Game 6: Mid-Atlantic vs. Southeast at Lamade Stadium, 3 p.m.
  • Game 7: Latin America vs. Japan at Volunteer Stadium, 5 p.m.
  • Game 8: Southwest vs. New England at Lamade Stadium, 8 p.m.
