The LLWS 2013 live stream and TV schedule had an open date for Friday, Aug. 23, and two United States teams will use it. The Sammamish vs. Westport game, originally scheduled for Thursday, was delayed due to rain at Lamade Stadium. Friday's live streaming LLWS game will be featured on TV as well as online thanks to ESPN.
The CT Post reported on Aug. 23 that last night's postponement became official as of 7:40 p.m., which followed the delayed Panama vs. Mexico game by 80 minutes. Mexico won that contest 4-2 and will play in tomorrow's International Championship game against Japan. A trip to the Little League World Series championship is on the line.
For tonight's game, a trip to the United States Championship game against Chula Vista, Calif. is up for grabs. Sammamish is representing the Northwestern state of Washington, while Northeast team, Westport, hails from Connecticut. To Westport's advantage, they can now use pitcher Alex Reiner if they want, since he threw under 35 pitches on Wednesday, and is allowed to return to the mound. Sammamish won't have that luxury with their No. 2 start, Jack Matheson.
These two teams previously played back on Sunday, Aug. 18 with Westport taking the game by a final of 9-7. The New England squad held off a rally by Sammamish, with over 21,000 in attendance for the televised game on ABC. The game also saw star pitcher Jacob Dahlstrom take a line drive off his leg in the second inning, requiring the Sammamish pitching sensation to be taken off the field. Dahlstrom has continued playing and producing for his team since that injury.
Friday's rescheduled Little League World Series game has a start time of 3 p.m. EST. Those who want to watch Sammamish vs. Westport on TV can see it on ESPN via cable or satellite providers. The game is also reportedly available for WatchESPN/ESPN3 service subscribers. See more info at the official site on how to watch this crucial LLWS matchup online.
