Tonight, on the anniversary of when James W. Marshall first found gold in the American River on Jan. 24, 1848 resulting in the start of the California Gold Rush, Liz O Show will be debuting her first album, "Golden Gate 8", celebrating on a rollicking cable car party around San Francisco.
After a two year roller coaster ride in completing her debut album, "Golden Gate 8" is compiled of eight songs, each with a story of a journey, with the most interesting being living in a bunk in the basement of the Adelaine Hostel when first arriving to San Francisco.
Elizabeth Oehlschlaeger (although she prefers to be mentioned as Liz O Show) performs around San Francisco and describes her shows as, “like a children's party for adults, complete with party horns, noisemakers, candy, cupcakes, pink, sparkles, whiskey, and plenty of debauchery. They are most always attended by Boppity Bear, who will be dressing in his finest bling for the party bus.” Boppity Bear, a rather large teddy bear with a diva attitude, usually makes an appearance when Liz O Show performs. Liz O Show’s music can be described as folksy, a little rock, funk and soul with her guitar playing rooted in rhythm blues.
The cable car ride will start at the carousels at Fisherman’s Wharf continuing with a raffle, games and stops at historic locations and ends at Fiddler’s Green. Everyone is invited to join at Fiddler's Green for line dancing at 8pm.
