Hypertension is a term used to describe high blood pressure.

Hypertension can become serious and life threatening if left untreated. Here are ways to lower blood pressure levels: discuss treatment options with your doctor, avoid shaking salt on food, follow your doctor's orders, eat low sodium meals and snacks, take blood pressure medication as prescribed, exercise regularly, remain within your Body Mass Index (BMI) range, use herbs to season food, avoid eating processed foods, avoid drinking high sodium beverages, reduce stress in your life and follow the DASH Diet daily read the entire article

If you are living with high blood pressure, follow the DASH Diet daily. DASH is the acronym for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. The DASH Diet is recommended to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
