Ever wonder what it would be like to be a store elf for the holiday season? Find out one man's experience in The Santaland Diaries, which opens tomorrow at Hardin County Playhouse.
The Santaland Diaries is based on the real-life experiences of David Sedaris', who was "Crumpet the Elf" as part of Macy's Santaland display during a holiday season. The play involves his unusual encounters with the parents, the kids, and basically everyone else in the world in the middle of a holiday rush.
The Santaland Diaries are to happen on Dec. 13 and 14 at 9:30 p.m. each night. The Dec. 15 show will occur at 7 p.m. All performances will happen in the Plum Alley Theater inside the State Theater Complex at 209 West Dixie Ave. in Elizabethtown, KY.
Tickets for each show are $18 for general admission, $15 for seniors 55 and over, $15 for students, and $15 for military and military dependents. All tickets can be purchased by calling 270-351-0577 or going to the Hardin County Playhouse website. Keep in mind the performance contains explicit content and is meant for an adult audience.
For those kids that can't watch The Santaland Diaries, Hardin County Playhouse is also presenting The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. That production will also take place this weekend. More information on either show can be found at the Hardin County Playhouse website.
