Living Colour have been making music for the past 30 years and they are celebrating the occasion with a new album and tour to support the upcoming release. “Shade,” the band's ninth studio album and the follow up to 2009's “The Chair in the Doorway,” is expected for a fall release. The band are currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on the LP. A tour for the album is expected to kick off September 18 at The Opera House in Toronto, Ontario. The shows will wrap up in Hanover, Maryland on December 7. They'll make their Chicago stop September 20 at Park West. Tickets are currently on sale. The full list of dates can be found below.

In a press release for the album, frontman Vernon Reid stated: “'Shade' is the sound of a band coming to terms with its shadows and light. From the blue pulpit of Robert Johnson to the mean red streets of Brooklyn to the golden lure of Hollywood, 'Shade' is the next chapter of a unique American journey.”

Formed in 1984 by guitarist/Black Rock Coalition founder Vernon Reid, Living Colour gained notoriety for their hit single “Cult of Personality” from their 1988 studio debut "Vivid." The song went on the score the band a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance in 1990. They also won Best New Artist at the 1989 MTV VMAs. After the release of two more albums (“Time's Up” and “Stain”) the group disbanded in 1995 after several disputes regarding their fourth album. In 2000, the band reformed and released “Collideoscope” in 2003.
