There's just over a month to go, but preparations are well underway to support Food Day, a nationwide celebration and a movement for healthy, affordable and sustainable food held on October 24th. Once again, LiveWell Longmont is leading the charge applauding real, good food for everyone. The nonprofit branch of LiveWell Colorado will be working with a growing list of committed local employers on a healthy food drive to raise awareness that individuals and families needing food assistance deserve healthy food choices. Once again, this healthy food drive will benefit the families served by LWL partner, the OUR Center.
In addition to sharing in the momentum and purpose of Food Day, LiveWell Longmont relishes this annual opportunity to join together with Longmont employers in a common effort; and, through this effort, to increase the likelihood that employees will also further enjoy healthy food choices for themselves and their families.
Numerous organizations have already signed on to support the healthy food drive in honor of Food Day, including: Cinnamon Park Assisted Living; City of Longmont; CrossFit Longmont; Ed & Ruth Lehman YMCA; Gentiva Hospice; Hover Community; LeftHand Brewing; Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce; Longmont Clinic; Longmont United Hospital; Mental Health Partners; Tiny Tim Center; and VolkBell.
