Liverpool, England December 9, 2010 - John Lennon is being honored both yesterday and today in his hometown of Liverpool.
Alan White, who played drums for John on Lennon's iconic Imagine album (drummer for Yes) is participating in the concert tribute at Echo Arena later today. His wife Gigi has sent us these photos so far, of the candlelight vigil at the new Lennon Peace Monument that Julian and Cynthia Lennon dedicated on John's birthday.
Staying at the Hard Day's Night Hotel which features the incredible artist Shannon's Beatles paintings, the Whites were treated to a room featuring fellow drummer and friend, Ringo Starr.
Gigi said via email, "Thought you would get a kick out of our room at A Hard Day’s Night Hotel, they gave us the “Ringo Room" ...Did they know?"
One of our readers also sent us the photo of John's childhood home, Mendips last night. Colin Hall, caretaker, left John's bedroom light on in honor of his memory. Thanks Frank for sending the picture.

The picture of the light left on in John's bedroom gave me the chills. It must have been something to walk by there at 3 a.m. and see that...
