Live with Regis and Kelly has featured lookalikes on their show before, and now another!
Multiple looks to actors and actresses appeared on the show daily during their celebrity search and eventual contest for the best look on the final day.
Real people who just happen to look like celebs, were screened, chosen and flown to the show. One such lookalike was Michael Mahar, from Silver Spring, Maryland, as David Caruso.
Mahar said of his experience on the show,
Wow, that was quick (referring to the trip to do the show). I had a really great time. They treated us like gold. Everything was crazy until they started rolling and then everything fell into place. It was wild. Well, I didn't win the grand prize but, I was on LIVE TV and that ain't bad. "
More lookalikes and their stories to follow.

Will you be involved with this as a look-a-like?
This show already happened. They were looking for talent who looked like a celebrity without added "costume." That is usually how it is. Although I'm not against submitting as Carrie-Anne Moss, the actress who portrays Trinity. thanks though.
Great article - I believe Regis and Kelly did not have a lookalike search in 2008, but I know they had one in 2007 because I was actually invited to appear on the show during their Celebrity Look-A-Likes week. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I'll never forget it! I even got Kelly to autograph a t-shirt and got a photo taken with her and the other lookalikes from that day. Let's hope they have another one next year, and you should enter, Deborah! I entered it, never thinking that I would actually be selected, but you never know...
By the way, I DID enter the search. :) Twice actually, as two different "characters." But, again, I think they were looking for more natural looks vs characters. Maybe next time will try the Carrie-Anne Moss look. :)
p.s. Good to hear that people/contestants had good experiences. That isn't always the case.
I was in the service with Mike, and when I accidentally tuned in to the Regis and Kelly show that day and saw him walk out on stage, I almost fell out of my recliner! I always thought he looked like David Carruso--Good for you Mike!--Your long time buddy from NY!
Dave, YES, doesn't he look like Caruso, and you should know, a long time friend. I'm originally from NY too. Thanks for the commment!
