If that football game or a certain diva aren't your cup of tea, you might want to tune in to Live Well Network's new vacation destination series, 'Sweet Retreats' Sunday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m./6:30 central as host Rene Syler lends a hand to a pair of sisters planning trip to Music City.
In recent months, my hometown of Nashville, TN has become not only the subject of a top-rated primetime sudser, but also one of the nation's most popular and best vacation spots. That said, it seems an obvious choice and perfect timing for Live Well Network's newest travel series to feature Music City.
In the episode, Pennsylvania natives, sisters Rosemary and Trudy are hoping to visit Rosemary's daughter, Liz Longley. As An aspiring country singer, Liz made the trek from her hometown of Downingtown, PA to Nashville after graduating from Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music.
When Liz' Mom and Aunt seek the advice of 'Sweet Retreats' host Rene Syler, she is more than up for the challenge. As she does each week on the freshman season of Live Well Network's newest series, Rene offers three unique options for this week's travelers. In doing so, viewers are also given a first-hand look at the variety of sightseeing choices available in Nashville. All this proves once again that Music City isn't limited to country music and that there's more to my hometown than cowboy boots and honky tonks.
Given the fact that Live Well Network is a subsidiary of Disney-ABC Television, the network home of the aforementioned 'Nashville' primetime drama, it seems to be the perfect bit of synergistic counter programming for a 'Nashville'-less Super Bowl Sunday night.
Although viewers may not initially realize it, featuring Liz Longley in Sunday night's episode of 'Sweet Retreats' won't be the first time the newcomer has been spotlighted on national TV. Her music was used throughout the 8-episode run of last year's medical documentary, 'NY Med'. Lifetime's 'Army Wives sixth season final featured Liz's previously unreleased single, 'This Is Not The End'. Liz's new album will be released on April 16.
