Live music at Chalk-It-Up fundraiser Labor Day weekend

Support children's arts education and local music in one swoop at the Chalk-It-Up festival this weekend at Fremont Park.  Every Labor Day weekend since 1991, artists have donated their time and talents to create sidewalk art in squares sponsored by local businesses and organizations. The art remains on the sidewalk the month of September. All money raised will benefit children's arts programs in the Sacramento region.

The community is invited to participate. Individuals can contribute by purchasing their own squares for $10. There will also be a community area where anyone, including children, can create their own sidewalk art for free.

This year, nearly 30 of Sacramento's hottest musicians will provide free entertainment for the festival, which also includes a beer garden and food vendors.  Chalk-It-Up runs Sunday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Fremont Park (15th and P Streets).
