"My inspiration comes mainly from experiences and emotions," explains Nickelus F. "I'm not a super thug, I'm just a regular dude..."
Nickelus F. is truly one of the greatest emerging artists in hip hop. This Richmond, Virginia native is a veteran on the independent scene, competing in everything from "The Source's Unsigned Hype Emcee Battle," which he placed second in, with no formal recordings under his belt; to being crowned the last 'true' champion of 106 & Park's "Freestyle Friday," contest back in 2007.
Unlike other seasoned battle rappers, Nick has transitioned smoothly into making radio-ready music, employing natural songwriting ability with abundant punchlines on songs like his current single, "Aggressive Content."
Nickelus F is a blessed artist that understands both the emceeing and production parts of making music. He shows intensity in his delivery and his word play is comparable to the greats.
Living through the stereotypes, hatred and brutality with his music, it is his inspiration to all. "Music isn't a 9 to 5; it is a beast spirit that possesses me." The fruit of his labor with that beast, is what he offers. He brings the stance and attitude of a warrior with him into the studio and the stage.
Music is the way to live life. "Season Premiere," holds catchy hooks, quality production and plenty of food for thought, for anyone who listens. "Everyone that helped in making the album is hungry and highly motivated," Nick says, "They carry the same message in their lives that I try to convey."
The biggest source of inspiration is hard work, that arises from jealousy and pure competition; "I am unbelievably jealous of Cassidy, Lloyd Banks, J Kwon, Murphy Lee & Chingy, and any other rapper in my age group that is doin' it; especially if I feel I'm better or on the same level, it iggs me like nothing else, I want their spot!"
Nickelus F's work consists of seventeen mixtapes and countless hits with collaboration with artists such as Drake, Boi-1da, Conrizzle, Stefan Skeeter, Michael Million and A-Plus.
