Live Beyond Labels Launch Party

Live Beyond Labels launch party is tomorrow at The Electric Pickle Company. The evening will celebrate the Live Beyond Labels class of 2014 and the creativity they are bringing to the Beck’s beer, including a performance by Live Beyond Labels artist Aloe Blacc and appearance by Luis Fonsi.

Every year, the summer-long program commissions musicians and artists to design original artwork that will be displayed on the labels of millions of Beck's beer bottles beginning July 1. This summer's lineup includes Aloe Blacc, Safe and Sound duo Capital Cities, singers Luis Fonsi and Maluca Mala, the Miami-based DJ Irie and Typoe, "renegade gardener" Ron Finley, and surrealist painter Camille Rose Garcia.

Here's a little behind the artists who design the bottles:

Aloe Blacc- Aloe Blacc is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, businessman and musician. He is best known for his singles "I Need a Dollar", UK number 1 single "The Man," and for writing and performing vocals on Avicii's "Wake Me Up," which charted at #1 in 22 countries

Capital Cities - Capital Cities is an American indie pop duo from Los Angeles, California, formed by Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian. Their debut EP was released on June 7, 2011, with lead single "Safe and Sound". It was released in the UK in late September 2013.

A subsequent single, "Kangaroo Court", was released on May 1, 2012. The band was featured on the Pop Up #1 compilation curated by Perez Hilton that was released on August 7, 2012. The band's song "Safe and Sound" charted at #1 on the US Alternative Songs chart. The song was also used in a German Vodafone commercial.[8] It was also used in the United States and Canada in a television commercial for the 2014 Mazda 3. The song "Center Stage" was featured on ESPN's First Take where they played a short segment of the retro sounding track before going to commercial breaks.

DJ Irie- DJ Irie is not only a DJ, he is also a philanthropic entrepreneur who uses his skills to benefit others. Irie has created the annual IRIE WEEKEND, which benefits the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund. Irie also makes himself available to other charitable groups he admires such as: The Special Olympics, Udonis Haslem Foundation, Overtown Youth Center, Alonzo Mourning Charities, Odessa Chambers Foundation, Ronnie Brown Foundation, The United Way, Jason Taylor Foundation and numerous groups benefiting Hurricane Katrina victims.

DJ Irie has been featured on Late Night with Conan, Access Hollywood, E!, MTV, USA Today, ESPN the Magazine, Playboy Magazine and Ocean Drive to name a few. He has collaborated with Adidas and Creative Recreation on exclusive sneakers and has toured with Jamie Foxx.

Maluca Mala - Natalie Ann Yepez, better known by her stage name Maluca, grew up in Washington Heights, Manhattan. Raised on a steady diet of bachata, cumbia, merengue, and mambo, as well as hip-hop and other club music, Maluca's music has been described as "experimental tropical punk, ghetto tech, and hip-house". Although a bad case of stage fright kept her out of the spotlight for much of her life, a chance meeting with Diplo while performing karaoke eventually led to "El Tigeraso", Maluca's first single.

The years 2009 and 2010 saw her touring, performing, and releasing what she calls "tropical punk" tracks. Since the release of her single in 2009, Maluca has recorded tracks that range from merengue mashups to kuduro to old-school deep house and focused on her stage show, which includes two dancers named the Cookies. China Food is her latest release as she prepares for a second visit to South by South West.
