'Little white lights' moved in clusters over Kansas

A Kansas woman reports groups of "little white lights" moving across the sky on September 29, 2010, that would "spread apart and then cluster back together," according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness says that multiple groups of lights appeared and faded in the sky at various times where spacing between their appearance varied from "10 seconds to a couple of minutes."

"There were another 5 sightings within the next 10 minutes," the witness stated. "The last one was very distinct. There were 5 lights moving together in a group. They would spread apart some and then cluster back together. The other groups had too many lights to count."

No town name was listed in the public portion of the MUFON report. No images or video were supplied.

The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or man made. If Kansas MUFON State Director Steve Winans investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update. Please report UFO activity to MUFON.com.

KS, September 29, 2010 - "Flock of Lights". MUFON Case # 25622.

I was outside on my front porch, sitting on the steps smoking a cigarette.

I wasn't wearing my glasses, but something in the sky caught my attention. It looked like a bunch of little white lights moving Northwest across the sky. They were all grouped together in sort of a flock formation. I went inside to get my glasses, hoping to see it or something like it again. I wanted to be sure what I was seeing.

Sure enough, only a couple of minutes later, there was another flock of lights, this time moving in the opposite direction. There were another 5 sightings within the next 10 minutes. The last one was very distinct. There were 5 lights moving together in a group. They would spread apart some and then cluster back together. The other groups had too many lights to count. I asked my boyfriend if he wanted to come outside and look and he said, "That's okay, I'm good. I don't want to get freaked out."
All of the groups suddenly appeared, flew across the sky and then they would eventually fade out. Anywhere from 10 seconds to a couple of minutes later, another group would appear.

Honestly, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go back outside after I got my glasses. Wasn't really sure if I wanted to confirm what I had seen or not. But I went out anyways, I was a little scared, but also curious.

Very strange indeed.

    Hi,
Last night (Oct 2, 2010) My wife and I saw something very similar over Junction City, KS. I'm going to follow your lead and tell my story to the MUFON people. Your eyes were not fooling you!

Hi, I saw the same white lights in the sky tonight. They were four in number and they were spreading apart and clustering together again. We were in car and driving for around 5 -6 miles and they were over our head all this time. I called the National UFO Reporting Center and they said they might be advertising lights.

My daughter, son and I all saw a "flock" of lights moving across the sky several times in slightly different locations last night (11/30/10) over Kansas City, MO. We watched for over 1/2 hour and saw this at least 5 times. It looked as if it just faded away but that was probably because it hit an area of the sky that was lighter than the rest. I have never seen anything like this before. It did not look natural, was way to big to be an airplane, especially if a plane were that high. We called it a string of lights, but the line was curved a bit like a flock of birds would fly, but not completely pointed. More than 4 lights - might not be the same thing.

on nov 22, 2010, me, my fiance, and her son saw about 100 starlike objects in the sky which we reported to mufon. this was over southwest missouri . i havent seen any reports posted yet about this incident, but i strongly feel it might somehow be related. they were moving from east to west and were very high up.they were different magnitudes also.i know the dates are different, but it was spectacular to say the least. we thought we were being invaded. after what we saw, i believe 100 % what these witnesses are stating is true !!!

I live in St. Louis and I have seen this same thing at least twice this month the lights move quickly all over then all come together for a second then fly back the same way then back in a cluster this went on for over a half hour. No one has explained to me what this might be.
