On April 21, 2014, Little Mix announced that the group is headlining its first North American concert tour, which takes place from Sept. 10 to Oct. 11, 2014. (See the tour dates at the end of this article.) Citi card members have access to pre-sale tickets beginning April 22, 2014 at 10 a.m. local time through Citi's Private Pass Program. The general on-sales will begin on April 26, 2014, through the Live Nation mobile app and at Livenation.com.
In addition, Little Mix is performing a free concert on NBC's "Today" in New York City on June 14, 2014, as part of the show's summer concert series. Unless it rains, the concert will take place outdoors, outside NBC headquarters in Rockefeller Center.
In 2013, Little Mix did a promotional tour of shopping malls in the U.S., with the tour featuring autograph sessions and a short performance at each tour stop. Little Mix's 2014 North American tour is the group's first full-length tour of North American as a headlining act.
As previously reported, Little Mix's cover version of Cameo's "Word Up" debuted at No. 6 in the U.K. for the week ending March 29, 2014, according to the Official Charts Company. Meanwhile, Little Mix plans to return to the U.S. for a few select concerts in 2014: at Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas, on Sept. 16 and at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix on Sept. 19.
Little Mix's "Word Up" was released in the U.K. and Ireland on March 16, 2014. Sport Relief 2014 took place from March 21 to March 23. In January 2014, Little Mix was in Liberia as part of a Sport Relief charity promotion.
Little Mix performed "Word Up" on "Sport Relief" on March 21, 2014 and on "The National Lottery" on March 22, 2014. Both shows were televised in the U.K. on BBC One.
In 2011, Little Mix became the first group to win on "The X Factor" U.K.
Little Mix performed "Move" (the first single from "Salute") on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Feb. 4, 2014, and on "The Wendy Williams Show" on Feb. 6, 2014.
"Move" was a No. 3 hit in the U.K. in 2013, but the single flopped in the U.S., where "Move" failed to make it on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Little Mix also performed "Move" on "The X Factor" U.S. in 2013.
Little Mix's first album, "DNA," was a Top 10 hit in several countries.
Little Mix's second album, "Salute," also hit the Top 10 hit in several countries when it was released in 2013. Little Mix was the opening act on select dates of Demi Lovato's "Neon Lights" 2014 North American tour. Little Mix is headlining a U.K. tour in May and June 2014.
On Jan. 21, 2014, Little Mix went to Japan to promote "Salute." Little Mix returns to Japan for a performance at the Summer Sonic Festival on Aug. 16, 2014.
