American fans of up and coming U.K. girl group Little Mix that were hoping to get their hands on a copy of Little Mix's second album, "Salute," won't be getting it as soon as folks in the U.K. will be. Billboard confirmed the news on Thursday (October 17) that the album won't be available until February 4, 2014 in the United States. The album comes out in February to support them on Demi Lovato's Neon Lights Tour, which kicks off days after the release in Vancouver and will last through March.
"We are so excited to release our second album, 'Salute,' in the U.S. on February 4, right before we kick off our very first U.S. tour with Demi Lovato," band member Jesy Nelson told Billboard. "We’ve worked extremely hard writing this album over the past couple of months, and cannot wait to perform for all of you Mixers!"
It was announced earlier this month that "Salute" will come out in the U.K. on November 11 with their first single from the album, "Move," being released on November 3 in the U.K. And just earlier this week the girls released the album cover and previewed the music video for "Move."
The album is the follow up to their debut album, "DNA," which was also released in the U.K. months ahead of its United States release. That album debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 and marked the highest debut ever for a U.K. female group's first album on the Billboard 200 chart, the Spice Girls previously held that record.
