Jake, our beautiful little rescue, was abused and came into our lives when he was six years old. Initially, Jake was extremely terrified of men and immediately reacted by biting, but with a lot of TLC and patience, Jake evolved into a very sweet little boy. Of all of our "kids", Jake is the most photogenic with his big, brown eyes, the window to his soul.
Photographing any dog can be a wonderful experience, but patience is key. Allowing Jake to play and tire out a little before beginning our photo session provides some very nice portrait shots. Each pet is different and each photo session is unique. Whether or not I'm familiar with the pet, including my own little ones, I take time to prepare them (and me) for the photo session. So, depending on what you're trying to capture, understanding what you're aiming for and understanding the personality of your little client is key.
