Little Lobo needs your help

Caring Hearts Rescue has just taken responsibility for a little 2-year-old Shih Tzu, Lobo, who sorely needed help.

He could not stand, and CHR rushed him to the veterinarian where he spent a day undergoing tests, including a bone biopsy that revealed good news:  Lobo's leg is not cancerous.

However, the x-rays showed disturbing images of very distorted bone decay on his right leg.  His left leg’s cruciate is "completely blown apart."  These are two very painful conditions, for which the veterinarian prescribed continuous pain medications.

"It was distressing for all of us to see this sweetheart of a dog in such pain," said a CHR representative in an email.  "Even though he was unable to stand this boy would reach over to lick a hand to say thank you for the love and attention shown by our volunteers."

Now, that CHR has the good news that LOBO is cancer free, they must proceed with the treatment plan Lobo desperately needs.  The damage to his right leg is painful and irreparable, and the leg needs to be amputated. Lobo also needs to have his left leg’s cruciate repaired.

Lobo must have surgery immediately, and CHR needs support to cover these very expensive surgeries.

A veterinarian has graciously reduced fees for the surgeries from $4,700 to $2,400.

Lobo can be healed and will have three working legs when his surgeries are completed.   He will live a long life without pain and filled with the love he deserves, the memories of this painful experience slowly fading as he heals and enjoys life.

Caring Hearts Rescue asks that you "see it in your heart to help this boy."

CHR is an all-volunteer rescue, so 100% of your donation is tax-free and will go towards Lobo's surgeries.

CHR needs all the help it can get and asks that readers spread the word via Facebook or Twitter and good old fashioned bulletin boards.  Where allowed CHR suggests that supporters place donation containers accompanied by Lobo's story.  He is counting on his rescuers to get him standing and pain free.  Thanks in advance from CHR for anything you can do.
