The Little League World Series 2013 live stream and televised games wrap up this Sunday, Aug. 25 from Lamade Stadium, where a champion will be determined. Prior to that, a third place team in this tournament will also be crowned from among the losing teams in the International and U.S. Championship games held Saturday. Competing for the bigger prize will be Chula Vista, Calif. of the West, and Japan, the team which captured the championship in 2012. There will be LLWS live streaming coverage and TV presentation for the various games on the schedule.
An Aug. 24 article via Huffington Post reported that Japan defeated Mexico by a final score of 3-2 on Saturday to win the International Title. Takuma Gomi's tiebreaking home run in the top of the sixth was a difference maker, helping his team advance to the Little League World Series. This made for the fifteenth overall meeting between the two squads in LLWS competition. Japan is now 10-5 all time against Mexico, and gets to make their sixth appearance in eight years in the finals.
Their opposition will be a tough team from Chula Vista, Calif. representing the United States. Chula Vista, the West team, defeated the Northeast team from Westport, Conn. in a rout, 12-1, according to a USA Today report. Pitcher Nick Mora was stellar for Chula Vista, allowing just two hits during his time on the mound. He also added a three-run homerun to help his team boost their score. California lead 6-1 after just two innings and never looked back. Westport, Conn. was unable to sustain the emotional inspiration following their amazing 14-13 comeback win against Sammamish, Wash. to advance to the U.S. Championship game.
The third place game is scheduled for 11 a.m. EST on Sunday, with Westport, Conn. taking on the team from Mexico. ESPN3 and WatchESPN will show the matchup live streaming online, while ESPN will show televised coverage. The live online coverage may be blacked out in some regions of the country. The 2013 LLWS championship game will be shown starting at 3 p.m. EST on ABC for televised coverage, and as of this report there is no live streaming coverage online announced, although live updated scores can be seen at ESPN or the Little League website.
