The 2013 Little League World Series kicked off yesterday with four games on the first day of action and will continue with four more action packed games today.
According to an updated LLWS bracket on Aug. 16, yesterday’s winners included Latin America (Aguadulce Cabezera Little League Aguadulce, Panama) and Mexico (Municipal De Tijuana Little League Tijuana, Baja California) from the International bracket, while the Northwest’s Eastlake Little League (Sammamish, Washington) and New England's Westport Little League (Westport, Connecticut) also earned round one wins.
All four of the winning teams will advance to the second round of play on Sunday Aug. 18, but don’t count out any of yesterday’s losers just yet. They still have one more shot at advancing if they can win their next game in this double elimination tournament.
Today’s action gets underway at 1:00 p.m. EST when Asia Pacific takes on Canada.
On the hometown front, when the Great Lakes Region Representative hits the field later today, fans in Michigan will have quite a bit of interest . Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League, representing Grosse Pointe, Michigan will take on Eastlake Little League from Chula Vista, California out of the West.
If you want to catch all of today’s exciting LLWS action, including our Michigan natives, you have many options, even if you are on the go or at work. All of today’s action can be seen streaming online, or on ESPN and ESPN 2.
