The Little League World Series 2013 live stream online and televised action continues on Wednesday, Aug. 21 with a featured matchup between two of the remaining United States squads. It will be Chula Vista, Calif. taking on Westport, Conn. with the winner advancing and the loser eliminated from contention. Viewers can watch the LLWS action live online or on TV thanks to the ESPN networks.
On Aug. 20, The Courant reported on tonight's matchup saying tonight's game is for a berth in the U.S. Championship game this coming weekend. The losing team will still have a chance at being there, if they can win an elimination game which is scheduled for tomorrow. As of this report from Courant, neither team had named starting pitchers. Manager Tim Rogers said when asked if Chula Vista is the best team he's seen:
"I'll tell you [Wednesday night] at about 10 o'clock.
They certainly look it on paper, and we've followed Delaware in Bristol and they handled them pretty seamlessly. But that's why you play the game, you never know. It's unpredictable at this age."
Both teams enter tonight's matchup at 2-0. Westport has a 20-0 overall record, while Chula Vista is 20-1. While the starting pitchers were unknown, Chula Vista may go with Grant Holman, who pitched a 3-0 no-hitter against the Gross Pointe, Mich. team this past Friday. Chad Knight of Westport told the media he'd enjoy the opportunity to pitch tonight, if selected. Knight gave up five hits and an earned run in a 3-2 win over South Nashville this past Thursday.
Tonight's 2013 LLWS game between Chula Vista and Westport has a start time of 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The game will be televised via cable or satellite on ESPN. It will also be available on a live streaming video feed through the WatchESPN or ESPN3 broadband sports network. The game may be restricted on certain devices or blacked out in certain regions, so check WatchESPN to see if it's available in your location.
