The Lake County Discovery Museum will open a very special exhibition this Saturday, March 20. Golden Legacy: Original Art from 65 Years of Golden Books will run through August 22.

Saturday’s opening celebration runs from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and visitors will be the first to view this one of a kind exhibition. Featured will be original illustrations and interactive activities from Little Golden Books, including The Poky Little Puppy, The Color Kittens, Tootle and I Can Fly.

Saturday’s opening event will also feature crafts, storytelling, refreshments and a meet and greet with The Saggy Baggy Elephant.

Visitors to the exhibition will see 60 original illustrations from Little Golden Books, America’s most loved picture book series. You will also be able to explore kid-sized activities from their favorite Golden Books, including The Red Lemon.

The opening celebration March 20 is free with museum admission and complimentary for museum members and Preservation Foundation donors. Museum admission is $6 for adults, $2.50 for children ages 4-17, and free for children 3 years and under.
