On January 29, it was announced that Little Big Town has earned a 2014 ACM Awards nomination for Vocal Group of the Year. As in the past few years, the Academy of Country Music employed celebrity guests to announce the nominees via Facebook and Twitter.

Little Big Town is the reigning ACM Vocal Group of the Year. Much of their success is due to their Platinum album “Tornado,” which yielded the multi-award winning song “Pontoon,” as well as the successful follow up title track.

The album “Tornado” is a testament to Little Big Town’s harmonies, but also their ability to choose, and then perfectly execute songs that take their listeners on journeys through many kinds of stories and emotions. From the fun-loving attitude of “Pontoon” to the anger-filled “Tornado” and the poignant “Your Side of the Bed,” Little Big Town has a gift for pulling their listeners into their tales and making them feel like they belong there.

Little Big Town has definitely hit their stride in recent years, but they will have some equally talented competition for the 2014 ACMs. Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, Eli Young Band and The Band Perry are also nominated.

The ACM Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on April 6 on CBS.
